EVENTS: CRADLES 2nd Steering Committee Meeting

On 15^th and 16^th April 2025 the 2^nd Steering Committee of CRADLES Project partners was successfully held in Trieste.

During the meeting, project partners shared the results achieved so far and the strategies and activities planned at transnational level to improve the conservation of nature, biodiversity and nursery areas in the coastal and freshwater wetlands of the Adriatic and Ionian region.

In particular, project partners focused their attention on the following topics:

• Common methodologies to assess the status and the management of nursery areas across different regions
• Integration of scientific methodologies with traditional management principles
• Avant-garde ecological restoration measures for nursery areas
• Carbon sequestration (biological capture and storage of carbon) as a nature-based solution to contrast climate change
• Involvement of stakeholder to ensure the successful implementation of conservation measures
• Capacity building and knowledge transfer initiatives.
