NEWS: Sampling activities in Obedska Bara

Obedska Bara, located along the Sava River, is one of Serbia’s most important wetland ecosystems, characterized by an oxbow lake, flooded meadows, marshes, and riparian forests hosting rich biodiversity.

On June 18th, 2025, three replicate samples of sediment cores, vegetation, and water were collected at four sites within the Obedska Bara Special Nature Reserve along the Sava River. The sampling included one control site and three sites previously affected by sediment dredging to evaluate the impact of past restoration interventions on carbon stock.
